Focus Point - Coach Justine

This month, Coach Justine discusses how self-awareness can help on your wellness journey, focussing on your Spiritual Wellness Pillar .

Creating self-awareness takes a bit of trial and error, looking inwardly and also takes some practice. Self awareness can help individuals meet their psychological needs, build a better relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves.

Journaling can be a great tool to helping us notice patterns in our behaviour. For example, when something hasn't gone the way we wanted it to, making a note of your feelings, your reactions to that scenario and the events that lead up to that occurring can be a really useful way to notice patterns of thinking and behaviour.

This can help you put strategies in place to help you in a similar scenario and challenge your thinking and shift your mindset. Changing how we speak to ourselves when something goes wrong from 'Did I do it?' to 'did I do my best?' this seems simple but really profound.

What is spirituality?

You tend to find that Spiritual Wellness is personal matter, something that only you can establish and understand!

Dr Maya Spencer - What is Spirituality?

"The spiritual journey involves first healing and affirming the ego so that positive states are experienced; with secure self-esteem, belief in self-worth and a capacity for love and generosity, a person becomes less constrained by ego defences. An opening of the heart is an essential aspect of true spirituality"

The benefits of spiritual wellbeing are endless as they directly impact and improve our daily life. Experiencing optimal spiritual wellbeing will have you feeling content with your life; whilst building positive and meaningful relationships. Having such content gives you a purpose in your life, a meaning. You accept new challenges with ease and you keep expanding and growing.
